Brytpunkten
The year is 2030 and the U.N's climate deadline approaches. A young couple leaves the city for the countryside to start a new life, aiming to be self-sustaining. They are peacefully excited about their future together – until the world outside their bubble intrudes when the conversation about having children arises.
A Certain Future (Orig. title Brytpunkten) is a short film created and produced by Futency.
"I wanted the film to express the worry and frustration that I and many in my generation, in this part of the world, feel when thinking about our future. The ending is intentionally left open; it's meant to raise questions, not provide answers or solutions.”
– Max Shore, director, scriptwriter, and editor.
Rewards and recognitions:
A Certain Future was chosen by the committee to open and introduce the 2023 European Film Festival of Lille.
In May 2023, it won best script at Pixel Skånes film festival.
It won best short film in July 2023 at the City Film Festival Stockholm.
"I am very proud of A Certain Future and the entire team behind it. Creating short films isn't just a one-time endeavor for us; it's part of a larger strategic initiative. We work daily with our clients' digital communication and we can clearly see how social channels are increasingly transforming into entertainment platforms. In our eyes, this is a positive trend. In the coming years, we will continue to develop the production company Futency Studios."
– Natalia Brynte, CEO of Futency and executive producer of A Certain Future.
